March 2026: a month dedicated to female excellence and empowerment
On the occasion of International Women's Rights Day, the Rawji Foundation chose to turn celebration into concrete action. Throughout the month of March, we reaffirmed our core conviction: the education and empowerment of young girls and women are the essential drivers for building the Congo of tomorrow.
Female leadership: from theory to practice
On March 8th, the Foundation hosted an immersive leadership session, bringing together young women with exceptional backgrounds. This highlight spotlighted several laureates of the Rawji Foundation's Award of Excellence. Far from being a mere one-time celebration, the event provided a space for learning, exchange, and looking toward the future.
Facilitated notably by Nadine Djoko Walapa, Executive Secretary of the Foundation, this session explored the fundamentals of contemporary leadership: self-leadership, self-confidence, decision-making, and positive influence. The central message resonated strongly: "Leadership is not a title on a business card; it is an attitude and a set of actions."
A commitment beyond the award
For the Rawji Foundation, supporting our beneficiaries is a long-term commitment: we guide our laureates in their professional development long after they receive their awards. By investing in their skills and leadership, we aim for sustainable change in their lives, careers, and, by extension, within their communities.
Supporting these talents means preparing a generation capable of thinking, innovating, and acting for the development of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Celebrating those who shape the future
Through these initiatives, the Rawji Foundation highlights all those who learn, innovate, and inspire. By developing these skills, the participants become drivers of change. Behind every individual journey, a collective momentum emerges: that of a country moving forward, driven by the energy and determination of its women.
Because an educated girl becomes a force for her community, investing in girls' education is equivalent to investing in the country's economic and social development. Access to quality education paves the way for professional opportunities, strengthens independence, and fosters the emergence of a more resilient society.
A future written in the classroom
With these three inaugurations, the Rawji Foundation once again demonstrates that philanthropy can tangibly transform the daily lives of students, families, and teachers. The new and refurbished classrooms stand as symbols of a lasting commitment and a steadfast belief in the potential of Congolese youth.
By investing in education today, the Foundation is helping to write the first pages of a brighter future for generations to come — a future where every child, regardless of background, can learn in an environment that is safe, supportive, and full of hope.
