Programs

Fondation Rawji is a vehicle of corporate social responsibility for Groupe Rawji, and is aimed at nurturing a stronger economy and greater society through our main three pillars of grant-making, Assistance Scolaire, Prix d’Excellence and Investissements.

Assistance Scolaire

In pursuit of the foundation’s mission, Fondation Rawji aims to improve access to education by sponsoring the education and tuition of Groupe Rawji employees’ children, from the ages of 3-25, from primary school all the way to university. Since the establishment of the Assistance Scolaire program in 2007, Fondation Rawji has supported more than 30,000 school years of education through scholarships.

Prix d'Excellence

Fondation Rawji recognizes the academic achievements of high-achievers at the university level by awarding them with grants to further their education, domestically and internationally. Since 2003 Fondation Rawji has awarded the Prix d’Excellence to over 1,000 students. Some have gone on to pursue Masters and PhDs at high-ranking international universities to become professors or scientists. And yet others have chosen to return to the DRC to contribute to their country's well-being.

Investissements

In addition to supporting education through the Assistance Scolaire and Prix d’Excellence Programs, Fondation Rawji invests in rehabilitating and constructing educational institutions and their facilities. Since 2003, Fondation Rawji has funded over 90 projects across the DRC, such as the construction and rehabilitation of schools, auditoriums, libraries, universities, orphanages, and community centers. Some suchs projects include the rehabilitation of facilities at Athénée de Kisangani and the Université de Kinshasa, along with other projects like rehabilitating a vocational training center for women called Coopérative Tuungana, in Masisi, as well as the construction of dormitories at the Université de Kindu.
